TEMPLES AND AMPHITHEATRES
Stunningly located on the edge of the Sounio National Park,overlooking the ancient Temple of Poseidon, the Grecotel Cape Sounio is the perfect resort for a fabulous family holiday, yet only a short drive from Athens. 154 terracotta-hued bungalows with private gardens and many with private pools are arranged around the main pool in a style reminiscent of the ancient Greek amphitheatre.
AMBASSADORS OF THE ENVIRONMENT
Whilst the usual fun and games are available at the hotels kids club, more adventurous youngsters will be drawn to the new Jean-Michael Cousteau ‘Ambassadors of the Environment’ programme. Children undertake fully supervised activities such as rock pooling, boogie boarding, gardening, paper making and recycling and for older kids, snorkelling, kayaking and underwater photography. The emphasis is on fun, but also on educating the children about the natural environment and sustainable living.
ELIXIR SPA
Parents will love the Elixir Spa with its array or natural therapies using Greek herbs and flowers and the deep hydro tonic Aqua Elixir pool. Other diversions include a state of the art gym, tennis club, a jogging route plus a range of watersports down at the lovely sandy beach and a PADI diving centre nearby.
WINING AND DINING
Dine casually at the poolside or try out the Asian Delicacies at the ‘So Oriental’. Alternatively taste the fusion of Greek and International cuisine available at the ‘Cavo Colones’. On Fridays and Saturdays you can sample the freshest and most authentic Greek fare created by the chef using fresh products from Grecotel’s organic farm in Crete.
