ANCIENT WONDERS
Many children are fascinated by the ancient Egyptians and this itinerary is specially designed to give them a real insight into some of the wonders of this great civilisation. From the Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza, to the Valley of the Kings and Tutankhamen’s famous death mask and camel rides, there are so many things to amaze and inspire. Also included is a visit to the Pharonic village in Cairo where a boat ride down a network of canals passes scenes recreated from ancient Egyptian life and where the kids can learn everything they want to know about the gory details of mummification.
NILE IN STYLE
The Mövenpick Radamis II has 74 air conditioned cabins, some with balcony. All are well appointed and spacious with a full bathroom including bathtub. Every cabin has a large panoramic window to allow guests uninterrupted views of life unfolding along the Nile. Connecting cabins are available for families.
TEMPLES AND TOMBS
This 5 day, 4 night Nile cruise includes a full programme of sightseeing with an English speaking Egyptian guide, so the family can explore temples and tombs galore. Return to the boat to enjoy relaxing on the sundeck or cooling off in the pool. Refresh yourselves for the evening ready for some fabulous dining, music, entertainment and if you have any energy left over – dancing.
ITINERARY
1. Fly London to Cairo. Transfer to Mena House Oberoi for 2 nights.
2. Cairo sightseeing. Morning tour of the Pyramids and Sphinx, including an half hour camel ride and afternoon visit to the Pharonic Village.
3. Transfer to Cairo airport for flight to Luxor. Join the Radamis II Nile cruiser. Lunch on board. Visit East Bank (Karnak & Luxor Temples). Dinner on board. Overnight in Luxor.
4. Breakfast on board. Visit the West Bank – The Valley of the Kings & Queens,The temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El-Deir El- Bahari & the Colossi Memnon. Sail to Edfu. Lunch on board. Free at leisure. Afternoon tea. Dinner on board. Overnight in Edfu.
5. Breakfast on board. Visit Horus Temple in Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo. Lunch on board. Visit the Temple shared by two gods Sobek & Haeroris in Kom Ombo. Afternoon tea during sailing to Aswan. Dinner on board. Overnight in Aswan
6. Breakfast on board. Visit the High Dam,the Temple of Philae & unfinished Obelisk. Lunch on board. Sail on the Nile by Felucca around Kitchener’s island. Afternoon tea. Dinner on board. Overnight in Aswan.
7. Breakfast on board. Check-out after breakfast at 08:00 a.m. Transfer to Luxor airport for flight to Cairo. Transfer to the Cairo JW Marriott Hotel. Afternoon visit to the Egyptian Museum. Return to hotel for overnight.
8. Transfer to Cairo airport for return flight to London.
PRICES
Guide price from £4675 low season to £4945 high season
Prices are for two adults and two children and are based on two Pyramids View Rooms at the Mena House Oberoi, including breakfast, two standard cabins on the Radamis II including full board and all sightseeing and two rooms at the JW Marriott hotel including breakfast. An Egyptian visa is also included.
